IT SECURITY ANALYST, Information Systems and Technology (IS&T) (2 openings), to improve the security posture of the Institute through network monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, security awareness, and compliance-related work. Will utilize multiple technologies to detect and respond to security incidents, recommending appropriate controls to MIT community members to mitigate threats and vulnerabilities.
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; five years of experience in cybersecurity or related field and at least three years' information security experience; broad understanding of networking, security, and system administration concepts; experience with security tools (i.e., vulnerability scanners, endpoint detection and response, intrusion detection systems (IDS), security information and event management (SIEM), etc.); working knowledge of security best practices, threats, exploits, and trends across platforms; understanding of networking and system administration concepts and common log types; understanding of common phishing techniques and experience analyzing email headers; and strong analytical and communication skills that support troubleshooting and problem-solving. PREFERRED: related security certification (i.e., CISSP), proficiency with scripting languages (i.e., Python, Ruby, PERL, etc.), and end experience with ticketing systems (i.e., ServiceNow). Starting salary range: $115,000 - 125,000
This is a hybrid position with an onsite presence required by business needs (i.e., 2 - 3 times per year).
