- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 7 to 10 years of relevant experience working with endowments, restricted and unrestricted gifts, life income funds, and pledges.
- Non-profit accounting experience in the education industry or similar relevant experience is required.
- Demonstrated experience using Blackbaud Financial Edge and Blackbaud Raisers Edge or similar.
- Demonstrated experience using Balance Fundriver and JPMorgan Access or similar.
- Demonstrated experience leading audits of significant endowments and investments.
- Strong technical and working knowledge of endowment accounting and investment operations, restricted gifts, and treasury management. Knowledge of non-profit accounting, especially with regard to restrictions. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with strong attention to detail.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize work, ability to meet multiple and often competing deadlines. Strong project management skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Knowledge of computerized accounting software. Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, as well as the ability and desire to continue to learn new programs.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to present and explain complex ideas. Must have the desire to work with colleagues on a regular basis and be collaborative.
