The DABSN Academic Support Specialist supports the mission of the university and LHSON by developing, coordinating and promoting the faculty and staff academic referral programs. The Academic Support Specialist manages testing operations, assists with student engagement, online retention, and clinical site support. These duties are performed through the collaboration of key organizational functions to ensure seamless testing processes, effective student engagement and retention strategies, and the regular site evaluation and maintenance of clinical site partnerships. This role requires leadership skills in coordinating operational logistics, fostering student retention and success, and building strong relationships with external stakeholders.
A Bachelor's Degree and one year of relevant work experience is required. A Master's Degree and three years of relevant work experience is preferred. This position is located in Dallas, TX. Occasional travel may be required.
Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.
What You Will Do
Management of testing operations
Oversee the administration of the DABSN testing services, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
Manage DABSN testing site logistics, including site selection, setup, maintenance, and capacity planning.
Develop, supervise, and implement scheduling systems for DABSN undergraduate students, ensuring fairness and accessibility.
Oversee DABSN test site administration procedures, DABSN testing site coordinators, administrative staff and proctors to ensure testing consistency and security ensuring they follow the BU and LHSON policies
Utilize data analytics to optimize testing operations and generate performance reports.
Student Engagement and Online Retention
Collaborate, and facilitate with OPM student engagement strategies and academic workshops, ensuring BU success resources are included in the student experience, to improve student retention and success rates.
Analyze student engagement and academic performance data to identify at-risk students and develop targeted intervention plans.
Collaborate with academic advisors, faculty, and support services to provide a cohesive support network for students.
Collect DABSN student data in collaboration with Student Services to understand feedback and improve programs and services.
Develop workshops, mentorship programs, and extracurricular activities to promote student well-being and academic achievement
Clinical Site
Help identify new clinical site partnerships to meet organizational and programmatic needs.
Collaborate with OPM, LHSON faculty, and administration to maintain relationships with clinical site representatives to ensure ongoing collaboration and satisfaction.
Collaborate with OPM, LHSON faculty, and administration to manage site evaluations to ensure the quality of clinical placements and compliance with accreditation standards.
Collaborate with OPM, LHSON faculty, and administration to help address concerns or issues with clinical sites in a timely and professional manner.
Collaborate with OPM, LHSON faculty, and administration to help plan and implement strategies for expanding clinical site networks to support program growth.
