Job Description:
Works directly under the supervision of the Manager of Assessment to assist with maintaining and delivering a comprehensive institutional assessment and effectiveness programs across all colleges in support of the university's mission and strategic initiatives.
Works closely with faculty in creation of exams, and generating reports of student learning outcomes based on exam results as well as assessing the effectiveness of academic and non academic programs. Assists both faculty and the Manager of Assessment in determining assessment needs, tracking data, and providing assessment recommendations as needed. Assist the Associate Provost of Institutional Effectiveness and Assessment in compiling, reviewing and interpreting data and information as it relates to the effectiveness of the university. Provides necessary reports needed for program or exam review.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists the Manager of Assessment in administering assessment surveys, creating forms, generating any reports to support both institutional and curriculum-based assessment activities
- Coordinate with Senior Assessment Coordinators to ensure the completion of assigned tasks and projects
- Serve as a point-of-contact for faculty who have any questions or suggestions related to their assessment needs
- Assists in generating item analysis reports of post-exam statistics and communicates those findings to the faculty (course directors, phase directors, etc.)
- Execute projects to review and assess the effectiveness of university programs
- Maintain responsibility for oversight of institutional effectiveness data delivery calendar
- Serve as subject matter expert on assessment and data tools utilized by the university
- Support administrators in reviewing, interpreting and determining the implications of various measures of institutional effectiveness
- Make post-exam adjustments indicated by the course directors and run updated reports as necessary
- Attend all pre-course planning meetings to provide the support to create the necessary course assessment items
- Supports the overall success of the Department of Assessment by performing all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate Degree with advanced courses in computer applications preferred or Equivalent experience may substitute for education
- Two years administrative/coordination related experience. One year experience supporting multiple individuals. Two years experience in higher education administration preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft applications, including comfort with Excel, Access, and question software databases
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to understand, assess, and use appropriate and professional judgment
- Effective use of diplomacy and tact essential
- Demonstrated initiative in being proactive, anticipating needs and implementing effective action plans
- Requires the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and perform assignments accurately
- Excellent written, grammar and punctuation skills
- Must have strong organizational skills, be flexible and able to adapt to changed priorities and effectively handle frequent interruptions
- Effectively handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
- Availability to monitor email on weekends and holidays
