Position Summary:
Reporting to the UCHDW Director and UCHDW Chief Information Security Officer, the Senior Security Analyst is a strategic role critical to the delivery of secure, quality technical solutions for the UC Health Data Warehouse (UCHDW). This position is expected to support cyber security operations including defending against security incident, analyzing security events/alerts, communication, and supporting incidents response for the UCHDW. Primary responsibility involves monitoring, detecting, protecting and maintaining the security of data, systems and networks. Plans, configures, designs, develops, implements and maintains tools, systems and procedures to insure the integrity, reliability and security of data, systems and networks.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and/or combination of education and equivalent work experience
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Ability to rapidly acquire new knowledge and skills; strong analytical ability and data-driven mindset
Strong experience with information security principles, cloud security, scripting, networking principles, and incident response is required.
Expert technical understanding of a broad range of cyber security concepts and countermeasures including endpoint security, perimeter security, virtual networks, VPNs, cloud encryption, account management, application security, cryptography, and network security
Strong experience with AWS cloud computing and native cloud security tools
Strong knowledge of cloud management platforms
Strong understanding of Cloud Access Security Brokers (CASB), Cloud Workload Protection Platform (CWPP), Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), and cloud web application firewalls
Strong knowledge of identity access management and supporting security technologies (role-based access control, MFA, Management Groups, Policy, Okta) and applicable working knowledge of cloud security frameworks, standards, and best practices
Experience with cloud deployment, technical and security architecture, database architecture, virtualization, technical solution architecture, Amazon AWS, and systems infrastructure
Ability to communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, orally and in writing, in an easily understood, authoritative and actionable manner
Ability to build collaborative working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining professionalism
Ability to perform independent analysis of complex problems and distill relevant findings and root causes
Expert interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization
Effective organization skills
5-7 Years experience in cyber security with 2-3 years in a Health Care environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of University and Medical Center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
Familiarity with container technologies like Docker, rkt, Swarm, Mesos, or Kubernetes
Knowledge of project management practices and project lifecycle processes
Industry recognized security certification (e.g., CISSP, GIAC series, CISA)
AWS Certified Security - Specialty certification
