Overview
University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) is dedicated to soliciting the private funding necessary to support the strategic goals of the University in teaching, learning, and research. The personnel of UDAR work university-wide as well as within individual schools and colleges of the University to discover, motivate, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, faculty, and friends for immediate, long-range, and future financial support, through gifts and pledges to the University, for critical operations such as student aid, faculty support, academic and research program development, and facilities and infrastructure. UDAR's endeavors raise funds for immediate University use and also for the University's endowment.
The Information Security Analyst position will identify, isolate, and resolve potential information security issues to enhance system performance and reliability. Research and advise staff on information security issues and trends. Implement and maintain data security and data privacy. Provide support in determining applicable information security controls, policies, standards, and best practices. Develop and implement technical tools, processes, and checklists to improve information security effectiveness both domestically and globally. Perform remediation action including, but not limited to, information security investigations based on critical alerts, security bulletins, and/or high confidence security threat intelligence. Support IT risk management processes. Liaison with NYU IT security and apply a proactive approach to daily IT security operations.

Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: B.A./B.S. in Information Technology, or other related field
Required Experience: 3+ years of relevant information security experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must include at least one year of direct experience with the evaluation and compliance of IT systems
Preferred Experience: 5+ years of relevant information security experience
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Demonstrate understanding of IT security principles, concepts, policy, and regulations
Demonstrate ability to effectively document security controls
Excellent project management, planning, and analytical skills
Ability to maintain adequate confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information
Ability to communicate technical information effectively to a non-technical audience
Experience in security incident management and investigation
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Firewall and secure email gateway monitoring
Assisting users in distress
Quarantining users
Professional experience with the evaluation and compliance of IT systems for the assessment of vulnerabilities and providing appropriate information security countermeasures to ensure implemented information security architectures comply with enterprise-level security architecture standards, including information security programs, protocols, and maintenance of existing systems
Experience with Network and system diagnostic tools and maintenance
Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure and application monitoring tools from vendors such as Microsoft, IBM, IBM MaaS360, BigFix, HP, Splunk, ServiceNow, etc
Experience with one or more of the following standards: ISO 2700*, NIST 800-37/53/171 and the ITIL Framework
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $75,000.00 to USD $95,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
