Department Overview As a security first organization, Technology Delivery Services (TDS) is part of the Information Technology Services (ITS) Department. The TDS teams include Information Security, Planning (architecture and PMO), Application Development, HR & Payroll Development, Infrastructure, and Client Services teams. We maintain an innovative, inclusive, and supportive work environment.
Position Summary Experienced professional who knows how to apply theory and put it into practice with in-depth understanding of the professional field; independently performs the full range of responsibilities within the function; possesses broad job knowledge; analyzes problems / issues of diverse scope and determines solutions.
Key Responsibilities
75% As the security liaison for location departments and units, oversees and executes information security responsibilities defined in campus policies and standards. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Monitoring security email lists, responding to security announcements, and reporting on status of security requests. Reviewing and updating risk assessments and risk treatment plans. Maintaining and updating inventory of institutional information, IT assets, and vendor supported services. Reviewing access rights. Reviewing contracts for new and existing vendors and ensuring they meet security requirements. Managing the implementation of security controls.
10% Managing requests for exceptions to information security policies and standards. Supporting information security incident response and remediation.
10% Participates in security training and keeps current with industry best practices to ensure software is not exposing the organization to unnecessary risk. Keeps up-to-date of new developments in software vulnerabilities and prevention.
5% Other duties as assigned.
Experience Required Qualifications
Min 4 years of relevant work experience
Skills and Abilities Required Qualifications
Ability to follow department processes and procedures.
Interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Demonstrated skills applying security controls to computer software and hardware.
Interpersonal skills sufficient to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
Ability to elicit and communicate technical and non-technical information in a clear and concise manner.
Knowledge of computer hardware, software and network security issues and approaches.
Ability to write technical documentation in a clear and concise manner.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
Ability to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Basic skill at reading and interpreting security logs.
Experience with risk assessment processes.
Education Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred Qualifications
CISSP or other industry cyber-security certification such as CISM, CISA, CRISC, GIAC.

Full Salary Range: $85,800 - $158,200

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range shows the growth potential for this position and the pay scale is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
