Mitchell Hamline School of Law is seeking to hire a part-time Security Officer. The incumbent in this position will provide the safe and secure environment for this multi-building campus and serves as a first responder to emergencies (i.e., CPR, first responder) and incidents. Additionally, this position provides customer service to students, visitors, staff, and faculty. The Security Officer provides routine security work of MHSL property and maintains the security of MHSL buildings.

Prerequisite:
To be eligible for this position, you must have obtained their High School diploma, PLUS some specialized training of less than two years (e.g., technical or business school for law enforcement or security management); AND 6 months of relevant security experience; AND Valid Driver's License in good standing; AND certified in the following areas:
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
First Aid
Self-Defense
Associate Safety Professional (ASP) training
*** If not currently certified in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), you must be willing to be certified.
Knowledge/Skill/Ability:
General knowledge of procedures involved in buildings and grounds work.
Strong customer service orientation and the ability to deal courteously and tactfully with the public.
Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated good judgment.
Good deductive reasoning skills.
Ability to maintain simple records.
Display high standards of ethical conduct. Exhibits honesty and integrity. Refrains from theft-related, dishonest, or unethical behavior.
Works and communicates with internal and external customers to meet their needs in a polite, courteous, and cooperative manner.
