The Department of Informatics and Analytics (I&A) at Dana-Farber has opening for highly motivated bioinformatics software engineer who is passionate about the potential for molecular data to inform clinical care of cancer patients and the groundbreaking discoveries that are a product of genomic data integration and analysis. The qualified candidate will work on an building data pipeline framework for integrating different types of molecular genomics data from diverse sources into DFCI enterprise molecular data mart. The candidate will be working on developing solution for sharing molecular data to researchers and clinicians on cloud. The application will enable researchers at DFCI to easily access their genomic and biomedical data in the cloud environment. The successful candidate is expected to collaborate with functional teams such as Bioinformatics and Data Engineering, and cloud and other technology vendors.
Contribute to design and development of data pipelines for processing molecular genomics data from external and internal resources.??
Working in close collaboration with Enterprise Datawarehouse engineers and developers to deploy/maintain data pipelines responsible for loading molecular genomics data into DFCI EDW.????
Collaborate with bioinformaticians and engineers to build new or existing analysis pipelines and make pipelines portable on both on-prem high-performance computing and cloud environments??
Design, implement, and maintain scalable solutions for accessing molecular data on cloud that can be shared with researchers for further data analysis.??
Develop and maintain the automated tests and monitoring process to ensure the successful pipeline execution and deployment??
Assist product management for the documentation of the system requirements, design, and troubleshooting??
Provide technical support to end users for pipeline deployment and execution??
Apply industry best practices and act as an advocate for coding standards and test-driven development??
Mentor new team members??
Qualifications:????
Bachelor???s degree required, MS preferred, in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline??
Demonstrated proficiency with Python, Java and/or other languages??
Familiarity working with molecular data formats ( VCF, MAF and BAM)??
Experience with building data pipelines in cloud or hybrid environment??
Proficient with Linux environment, shell scripting, and command line tools??
Experience with software development and Agile process is a strong plus??
Proficient working with SQL databases (SQL Server preferred)??
