The IT Security Analyst position supports the UCSF IT Security group, which develops, communicates, and supports University-wide information security policies and programs that ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of UCSF Electronic Information Resources (EIRs).
This position will report directly to the Information Security Operations Manager. The position will share responsibility for, Operations management, vulnerability management engineering, security endpoint engineering and management, and request processing.
This position requires a detailed oriented individual with strong analytical skills.
Applies skills as an Information Security Analyst in order to monitor, detect, report, and coordinate remediation of threats to the UCSF infrastructure, it's assets and its data. Responsible for detailed analysis of security tool findings, root cause analysis, and the balance of risk to operational needs. Responsible for clearly documenting tool operating processes and assisting in keeping all Security Operations tools functional, effective, and up to date.
