  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are required to succeed in this role.

  • Deep knowledge of relevant state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and influence and coach at appropriate levels.
  • Close attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately required.
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-8 years of broad HR practitioner experience within complex organizations.
  • Previous managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Dedication and proven ability to support DE&I initiatives.

Desired Competencies:

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex business systems to execute HR systems processes in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Experience managing SAP business systems is desirable.
  • Demonstrated competence and knowledge of human resources practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Understanding of employment law related to equal opportunity, discrimination, and affirmative action.
  • Prior experience working in a work environment focused on sponsored research is a plus.
  • An orientation which strives for continuous improvement, creativity, flexibility, and growth mind-set.
  • A collaborative work approach with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with discretion, while displaying integrity and accountability.
  • Ability to create positive relationships and work with colleagues, faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds.
