Manage a caseload of students, utilizing a proactive coaching approach to academic mentoring
Maintain a strong understanding of challenges and opportunities faced by at-risk students
Maintain a strong understanding of success coaching concepts; including learning and studying strategies and non-cognitive factors
Maintain documentation of student interactions; generating regular performance reports
Coordinate efforts to support special populations of students (Predictive Analytics, Early Alert, Warning, Probation, Conditional Admits, Financial Aid SAP students)
Plan and execute intervention strategies for students who receive flags through the Early Alert system, in collaboration with academic units
Assist students with navigating academic and non-academic resources on campus, online, and in the community
Develop specific programs and action plans for conditionally admitted students and other students who've experienced academic challenges
Facilitate SASS Commit to Success workshops and other presentations on behalf of the division and for students or organizations
Assist the Director with special projects that contribute to institutional retention goals
Represent the office and the division at campus events

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Master's preferred - preferably in counseling, education, or related field
Demonstrated commitment to a diverse, non-traditional, first-generation student population
Effective written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment while effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines
Experience working with students who are at risk

Position Summary: The Student Success Coach will utilize high-impact holistic success coaching practices to support a primarily at-risk student population. These coaching practices include learning strategies, skill development, and non-cognitive training that can promote the achievement of a diverse student population. The Student Success Coach holds regular meetings with students to assess needs, assists with academic planning and goal setting, and monitors academic progress. This individual will help coordinate efforts to increase retention through coaching sessions and workshops that promote academic, personal, and professional development and non-cognitive skill development.
Program Overview: The Office of Student Enrichment & Achievement (SEA) provides guidance and support to the University of Missouri - St. Louis students who require additional support towards achieving degree completion. SEA staff enhances student achievement by offering various programs and services, including personal success coaching, developmental workshops, and referrals to campus resources.
