The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As a Legal Data Analyst, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Utilize analytical, statistical, and programming skills to collect, analyze, and interpret large data sets.
• Carry out periodic reporting duties for leaders within Ethics & Compliance.
• Conduct advanced analytics leveraging predictive modeling, machine learning, simulation, and other techniques to deliver insights or develop analytical solutions to manage compliance risk.
• Research and explore data sources; at times, work with data and systems experts to understand the data and what it represents.
• Build strong working relationships and translate complex analytical and technical concepts to non-technical employees to enable understanding and drive informed decisions.
• Collaborate with other analysts and scientists of the Center of Excellence on cross-departmental projects and exploratory work on advanced analytics in the Legal space

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
• Two (2) years of combined experience in one or more of the following areas: data analytics, data visualization, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and/or application development in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Experience with rigorous mathematical modeling of complex dynamic systems.
• High degree of proficiency with one or more appropriate coding languages (e.g., Python, R, SAS, advanced Excel) and query languages (e.g. SQL)
• Extensive knowledge and experience using Excel, Access, Power Point, and MS Word.
• Continuous improvement mindset
• Experience with business intelligence and data modeling and visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, AWS, MS-Azure)
• Bottom-up understanding of common ML architectures
• Experience extracting data in bulk from public sources (e.g. web scraping)
• Strong organizational skills
• Self-motivated and independent
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized
