In alignment with UCSF Health's Strategic Plan, UCSF made a strategic decision to advance UCSF's commitment to the Epic Community Affiliate program. This program allows UCSF to extend our substantial investment in Epic to other hospitals and clinics in Northern California. UCSF has fostered significant clinical care relationships with other health care organizations, creating a network that builds continuity of care across UCSF and the broader community. The Community Affiliate program provides a shared clinical record that will improve care coordination and smooth transitions between patient care locations. Additionally, it allows for better continuity and more appropriate treatment for the patient while lowering costs through the elimination of duplicative services across multiple settings.
The IT Security Analyst for Community Affiliates conducts information security risk assessments for affiliate organizations, vendors, and associated information systems and assists with the management of the information security risk assessment process, including scoping, intake, review, and approvals.
Review policies, procedures, system design, and security controls against UC policy and standards, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001/2, and other standard security frameworks.
Establish and maintain effective risk assessment and risk management practices, following NIST 800-30, 800-37, and 800-39 guidance.
Consult with internal customers and external vendors on UCSF security compliance requirements, including UC policy and regulatory requirements such as HIPAA.
Collaborate and consult with technical and administrative staff of affiliate clinic organizations, UCSF affiliate program Relationship Managers, UCSF IT Security staff, technical project managers, UCSF Clinical Systems staff, UCSF Privacy Office, and a variety of other UCSF staff and outside vendors to assure that IT security compliance requirements are understood and addressed across clinical affiliates and the UCSF enterprise.
