Under the direction of the Director of Academic Technology and Technology Support, the LMS Administrator will manage and provide support to all functional aspects of the School’s learning management system (presently Canvas). The LMS Administrator will also be responsible for setting up LTI with other systems within canvas for use. The person in this position will also be responsible for helping to research, plan, and execute innovative technical learning solutions for online, hybrid, HyFlex, and face-to-face classrooms and will provide direct course-building assistance to faculty each semester as part of the course development cycle.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Configure and manage technical settings to ensure Canvas is customized to meet the needs of end users across academic departments for in-person and online courses.
- Leads implementation, user account creation and ongoing maintenance of the LMS and all supporting tools, content, and technologies, roles, permissions, users, security, and internal system notifications.
- Manage the creation and production of standard reporting on LMS usage.
- Provide assistance, through resources and training, for students, faculty, and staff to fully utilize the LMS and its features.
- Serve as a point of escalation for LMS troubleshooting.
- Monitor system updates and status of the LMS.
- Evaluate and test new feature options in our LMS and recommend it for use.
- Work with the Director of Academic Technology and Technology Support, and Director of Instructional Design and Development to research, explore, test, and implement innovative technical solutions for online, blended, hybrid, HyFlex, and face-to-face courses.
- Assist with planning and executing initiatives to support departmental and institutional strategic plans.
- Participate in faculty training and onboarding of technology to support innovative course delivery methods.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or related field. Relevant IT experience could stand in lieu of 4-year degree.
- 1–3 years’ experience working in system administration or IT helpdesk. Canvas experience highly preferred.
