As a member of the Legal Department, provides legal representation to DFCI, its executives, investigators, physicians, employees and the Board of Trustees on a broad range of legal matters.??

Advise on health care and medical research matters, which may include any of the following areas: patient care, faculty and professional staff, research, governance, finance, tax/nonprofit, philanthropy, real estate, labor and employment, privacy and security, and other legal matters
Advise on regulatory matters to ensure compliance with federal, state and local government laws and regulations
Draft, negotiate, interpret and advise clients on a wide range of health care, operational and transactional agreements, including subcontractor and supply chain arrangements
Draft and advise on Institute policies, procedures and other operational documents
Manage litigation, internal investigations, and responses to government inquiries
Stays informed of industry-specific regulations, standards and leading practices
Direct outside counsel and oversee their work
Juris Doctor from accredited law school with proven academic success
4+ years of experience in law firm, corporate legal department, and/or government agency required
Current Massachusetts bar admission or admission in another jurisdiction with the ability to become licensed to practice in Massachusetts required
Significant advisory experience
Experience managing the legal affairs of a substantial area of an organization
