The Impact You'll Make in this Role As a Quality Control Laboratory Technician, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Routine testing for finished product, in-process, and incoming raw material testing with minimal supervision.
Collaborating in a fast-paced team environment, working within and across different groups.
Maintaining accurate documentation of work product.
Participating in laboratory investigations method development activities for new products and procedures.
Following standard operating procedures and keep current on all mandatory training.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
One (1) year working in a Quality Control (QC) testing environment in a private, public, military or government environment
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering field from an accredited institution
Laboratory experience related to analytical chemistry (Laboratory courses as part of a science or engineering degree may qualify)
Working knowledge / experience with laboratory equipment (balances, ovens, autoclaves, UV-Vis spectrometer, FTIR, column chromatography, etc)
Working knowledge of systems for testing for total organic carbon (TOC), total nitrogen (TN), endotoxin)
Computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Minitab)
Travel: May include up to 5% domestic/international
Relocation Assistance: Is not authorized
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
