The Impact You'll Make in this Role
The Nevada Plant Quality Manager will be responsible for setting quality standards, development of plans for improvement, leading technical work teams, interacting with customers, sales and marketing, laboratory, production and senior leadership. The site quality manager will supervise the resources and activities of the site quality management system, supplier quality, quality control, metrology and quality engineering. The site quality manager is a key leadership position on the plant leadership team.
As the Nevada Plant Quality Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most creative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Working with the business and lab partners to develop, lead and resource key quality priorities.
Directing supervision and development of the Nevada's quality team, including quality systems, analytical forensics laboratory and quality engineering.
Developing and monitoring operational performance of the site level Quality Management System (QMS) to meet the plant and business objectives and comply with relevant global requirements.
Establishing and driving, through a culture of continuous improvement, objectives for prevention of quality non-conformances and deviations, reduced variation in product and process, improved customer satisfaction, and operational excellence across the site.
Supporting plant operational objectives in driving operational excellence in the Quality function.
Site Management Representative with responsibility and authority to ensure quality system requirements are effectively established and effectively maintained.
Maintaining current ISO-9001 certification.
Preparing for, leading, and following-up on quality and regulatory audits conducted by external agencies, notified bodies and customers.
Assuring all products released to the market meet their quality control, product specification and regulatory requirements.
Guiding the plant and business with appropriate risk-based decision making around deviations and change control.
Taking initiative to proactively improve product quality and customer satisfaction through cross-functional collaboration and engagement in continuous improvement.
Driving effective and efficient site process for internal audits, CAPA, customer complaint analysis and feedback, control and disposition of non-conforming material and supplier quality.
Supporting NPI and design control activities, driving effective and efficient execution of the quality requirements and deliverables.
Networking effectively across all business stakeholders and sister plants within those businesses to share key learnings and capitalize on best practices.
Championing a robust Quality Culture in collaboration with the site leadership team.
Actively participating on the site leadership team.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher from (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Four (4) years combined manufacturing, quality, laboratory and/or production environment experience within a private, public, government or military environment
Direct experience with audits and investigations
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institution
Quality or Regulatory leadership experience
Prior supervision or leadership experience
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and create excellent collaboration
Ability to lead internal and external audit activities
Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing experience
Change Management experience of programs with significant strategic importance
Demonstrated skills in customer experience management
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic/international
