MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy Medicine (D.O.) from an accredited college or university or foreign equivalent
* Successful completion of an accredited residency program in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine or anticipated completion prior to starting employment
* Licensed as a Physician in the State of Illinois or the ability to obtain prior to starting employment
* Board certified or Board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine or ability to obtain prior to starting employment
* Valid Illinois Controlled Substance License or ability to obtain License prior to starting employment
* Valid licensure with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) or eligible to obtain licensure by start of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
* One (1) year of post-residency experience in caring for patients living with HIV/AIDS or STI care.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics
* Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) to ensure the protection of the confidentiality and security of healthcare information for all patients.
* Sensitivity and respect in caring for patients and in dealing with patients, family members, trainees, and CCH staff of diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of staff and a patient population composed of diverse cultures and age groups.
- Strong customer service and empathy skills.
- Demonstrate analytical and organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking, and conflict management/resolutions skills.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy and precision.
- Ability to adhere to department policies and standards utilizing best practices incorporating the use of electronic health record (EHR).
- Ability to function as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor when challenged.
