Compliance, Legal, & Regulatory Relations Technology has embarked on an ambitious Risk Transformation program and as part of that we are looking for a Application Engineer who will be part of the application support and development team and be responsible for assisting with supporting existing platforms that manage business processes and reporting in the Financial Crimes and Anti-Bribery & Corruption area. We are looking for an Software/Data Engineer with experience in design, implementation and support of enterprise systems, handling business workflows, reporting and integrations with upstream systems. The candidate would support design, implementation, production support and monitoring. Technology toolkit involves RDBMS tools (SQLServer, Oracle), .NET, and Analytical and Reporting services (Tableau/Cognos/Microstrategy/PowerBI). The candidate will work closely with the Corporate Risk Governance organization in building and supporting an enterprise platform. This is a unique opportunity to make a huge impact to Risk and Finance organization as various transformational projects are implemented. These functions are spread out throughout the US with New York and Minneapolis as the primary locations. Position Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes - Acts in the technical role as an individual contributor for the most complex computer applications and/or application initiatives.
- Utilizes a thorough understanding of available technology, tools, and existing designs.
- Drives and participates in design and implementation of large software solutions.
- Analyzes highly complex business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesign complex computer platforms and applications.
- Works closely with developers and testers to ensure requirements and functional designs are translated accurately into working technical designs and that test plans and scripts meet customer needs.
- Works with developers and business partners to understand application defects, performance problems and data anomalies.
- Plans, performs, and acts as the escalation point for the most complex platform designs and testing.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- 2+ years of compliance and regulatory systems experience
- 3+ years of .net experience
- 3+ years of MS SQL server experience
- 2+ years of Agile experience
- 2+ years of .NET Core experience
Desired Qualifications
- An industry-standard technology certification
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to design, develop, and implement large scale/complex software applications
- Knowledge and understanding of technology testing: unit, regression, integration, and stress performance testing
- Ability to facilitate design sessions
- A BS/BA degree or higher in science or technology
- 4+ years of experience leading and executing complex technology transformational programs across an enterprise
- Knowledge and understanding of financial services industry: compliance, regulatory, or legal operations
- Ability to influence and build relationships with LOB stakeholders, technology CIO leadership, external service providers, and architecture teams
- Experience using business knowledge and critical thinking skills to deliver upstream and downstream project impacts
- Advanced problem solving and technical troubleshooting capabilities
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to identify, plan, and document system solutions that are cost effective and meet regulatory requirements
- Ability to work effectively in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations
- Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret large datasets
