An internship is a temporary position within 3M. Interns typically work a full-time schedule throughout a 10-12 week assignment. This position is limited to working 899 hours per service credit year. 3M provides eligible interns with temporary housing and round-trip travel reimbursement in accordance with current policy.

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.

IT Internship assignments are available for both Technical and Business roles and are in the following areas:

• IT Systems (ITS). This team provides enterprise-wide technology and security to 3M's customers, suppliers and employees. IT Systems deploys flexible, cloud-based technology to enable solutions while continuing to enhance platform performance and reliability. Teams within ITS with internship opportunities include Infrastructure, Data Analytics, Quality & Release Management, Information Security, Risk & Compliance, Operational Excellence, and Services & Strategy.

• ERP Ecosystem Solutions (EES). This team develops and delivers integrated global ERP Ecosystem solutions to maximum value to 3M. ERP Ecosystem Solutions focuses on providing an optimized experience for both customers and employees through an end-to-end process focus, which allows global teams to work differently and drive growth and productivity. Teams within EES with internship opportunities include Deployment & Architecture, PMO & Value Management, Solution Release, and several process teams that support system development such as supply chain, marketing, digital and many others.

• Global Service Centers (GSC). There are 3 GSC sites around the globe and a global team based in St. Paul, MN. The GSCs support back-office transactional services and customer front facing services, with focus on standardizing and centralizing activities as well as enhancing service performance through automation, digitalization and innovation.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in information technology, management information systems, computer science, computer engineering or a STEM related discipline from an accredited institution
• Current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
• Previous internship, co-op and/or industry experience
• Previous experience working in Information Technology
• Excellent communication skills

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Responsibilities of this position may include direct and/or indirect physical or logical access to information, systems, technologies subjected to the regulations/compliance with U.S. Export Control Laws.
