Responsible for building models of joint warfighting operations within the AFSIM simulation environment, and performs analysis of those operations using modeling and simulation, and other operations research techniques.
Major Job Duties:
Applies mastery level skill in designing, developing, testing, and using mission and engagement-level models to analyze joint warfighting operations.
Develops and executes mission and engagement-level representations and databases in the AFSIM simulation environment.
Employs those models, and advanced analytical, mathematical, or statistical techniques to analyze the outcomes of US, allied, and adversary forces executing warfighting concepts of operation.
Identifies capability and/or capacity gaps, and makes recommendations on ways to close those gaps based on additional modeling and analysis.
Advises other operations research analysts, scientists, or engineers on techniques best suited for tasked problems, to include the best way to calibrate campaign-level models to represent the effects determined through mission and engagement-level modeling
MUST MEET ALL OF THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR FURTHER CONSIDERATION FOR THIS POSITION:
Possess an active DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility;
4 years of experience in developing engagement, mission, or campaign-level models, with at least 2 years of experience in developing models in the AFSIM simulation environment;
5 years of experience in the analyses of management or operational problems, with the ability to formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions;
Hold a Master's degree from an accredited university in Operations Research, physics, engineering or an applied sciences discipline, or a Bachelor's degree in one of these disciplines with 7 years of experience.
WELL QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL POSSESS ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING ATTRIBUTES:
1 or more years of experience using the STORM campaign model;
7 or more years of experience in developing engagement, mission, or campaign-level models;
4 or more years of experience in developing models in the AFSIM simulation environment;
10 or more years of experience in the analyses of management or operational problems, with the ability to formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions;
Prior military experience at the theater or joint task force level conducting planning or performing operational assessments;
Experience with developing R scripts for pre-processing, post-processing, data analytics and data visualization; completion of professional military education at or above MEL-4.
