Job Type: Staff Job Description: KCU is seeking a Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis to join our team of Finance professionals. KCU is a fast growing, private health sciences university located in the Midwest consisting of a College of Osteopathic Medicine, a College of Biosciences and a planned College of Dental Medicine. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Manager of FP&A is primarily responsible for maintaining and enhancing the monthly, long-term, and cash forecasts, as well as taking a lead role in the annual budget process. Additionally, this position will play a key role in the evaluation and planning of new projects and initiatives for the University. Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Maintain, update and enhance the monthly and long-term financial forecast model
- Maintain and enhance the monthly and long-term cash forecast
- Lead role in the annual budget process, including working with departmental leaders across the University in developing financial plans
- Take a lead role in producing and enhancing the monthly key performance indicators reports.
- Prepare monthly financial and operational analyses in collaboration with the Accounting team and other departments across the University.
- Assist in the evaluation and planning for new strategic initiatives by developing pro-formas and what-if analyses.
- Works in close collaboration with the accounting team to continuously improve financial reports and analyses
- Develop expertise in reporting and data analysis utilizing the University's Workday enterprise software platform
- Develop strong, collaborative working relationship with the Accounting team to share information and analyses to continuously enhance financial reporting, budgeting and projections
- Seek opportunities to add value through continuous improvement, efficiencies, revenue opportunities and cost savings.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration and 5 or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination
- Excellent analytical skills
- Highly proficient in the use of Excel and accounting software systems
- Adept with and keenly interested in the use of accounting and reporting software systems. Experience with Workday Financials a plus.
