Job Type: Staff Job Description: KCU is seeking a Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis to join our team of Finance professionals. KCU is a fast growing, private health sciences university located in the Midwest consisting of a College of Osteopathic Medicine, a College of Biosciences and a planned College of Dental Medicine. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Manager of FP&A is primarily responsible for maintaining and enhancing the monthly, long-term, and cash forecasts, as well as taking a lead role in the annual budget process. Additionally, this position will play a key role in the evaluation and planning of new projects and initiatives for the University.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain, update and enhance the monthly and long-term financial forecast model
Maintain and enhance the monthly and long-term cash forecast
Lead role in the annual budget process, including working with departmental leaders across the University in developing financial plans
Take a lead role in producing and enhancing the monthly key performance indicators reports.
Prepare monthly financial and operational analyses in collaboration with the Accounting team and other departments across the University.
Assist in the evaluation and planning for new strategic initiatives by developing pro-formas and what-if analyses.
Works in close collaboration with the accounting team to continuously improve financial reports and analyses
Develop expertise in reporting and data analysis utilizing the University's Workday enterprise software platform
Develop strong, collaborative working relationship with the Accounting team to share information and analyses to continuously enhance financial reporting, budgeting and projections
Seek opportunities to add value through continuous improvement, efficiencies, revenue opportunities and cost savings.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration and 5 or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination
Excellent analytical skills
Highly proficient in the use of Excel and accounting software systems
Adept with and keenly interested in the use of accounting and reporting software systems. Experience with Workday Financials a plus.
