Overview

By building out core digital and data capabilities, we are supporting the achievement of Mass General Brigham's mission to drive growth and innovation in inpatient, ambulatory, and digital care. In the achievement of these goals, Mass General Brigham's data and analytic teams are working together to build a system-wide data ecosystem. We are both leveraging current assets and building new, integrated solutions to provide a holistic set of industry-leading data and analytic capabilities, supporting Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and real-time insights. Teams from Data and Analytics, Research Analytics, Clinical Data Science, and Information Systems are collaborating to build this new data and analytic ecosystem. To ensure success of this effort, Mass General Brigham is standing up a new Data and Analytics operating model with a goal of driving a level of standardization for data and analytic operations across the teams involved.
The value of investments in data and analytics were proven out during our response to COVID-19 as these investments were leveraged to stand up new reporting and analytic capabilities to support executive and clinical leadership on managing the pandemic. Our broad data and analytic community has come together across Mass General Brigham 's 14 healthcare sites with shared urgency, delivering analytic tools to our system that drove timely insights in both clinical and operational domains, resulting in effective delivery of critical care and in organizational efficiencies during a time of reduced resources.
General Summary
This role is responsible for participating in projects and solving complex issues by utilizing previous experience in administering applications, systems, databases, and/or data warehouses like (but not limited to) Clarity, Caboodle, and Business Objects analytic platform administration. This role will partner with and support developers to complete operational analytics needs. And work with some of the newest and most powerful technologies on the market today which includes reporting/analysis tools, ETL tools, and data visualization tools.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Participate in the maintenance and support of Epic instance(s) of Clarity, Caboodle, and Business Objects tools and data analytics capabilities
- Participate in maintenance and support of validation activities of Clarity and Caboodle ETL nightly processes, and other analytical development tools using notifications and other validation methodologies
- Install and configure Business Objects Enterprise, Crystal Reports, Web Intelligence, or other analytical tools connecting to the Epic Clarity Database and additional data sources
- • Administer environment within the scope of job function: including creation of accounts with appropriate security and manage automated report scheduling and distribution
- Monitor and troubleshoot environment errors and performance problems, including coordination with SAP and other vendors
- Participate in ad-hoc and quarterly system upgrade activities
- Participate in Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions with internal and external stakeholders including: Clarity, Caboodle and developers and other data warehouse experts/administrators
- Maintains documentation on all processes and procedures within the scope of job functions
- Provide on-call support for nightly processes and/or other critical production issues
- Work independently, assume responsibility for job development and training, research and resolve questions and problems, and request supervisor input and keep supervisor informed as appropriate.
- Attends weekly scrum meetings to discuss team and project related activities, issues, change, communications, and updates
- Demonstrate professional standards surrounding data access, data security, data sensitivity, and data confidentiality.
- Practice advanced understanding and experience using the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile Methodologies
- Ability to initiate and follow through on complex projects both short and long-term duration

Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Data Science, or related field (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of educational requirement).
Work Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years combined experience as a Systems Administrator, Platform Administrator, Data Warehouse Administrator, Database Administrator (DBA), Hadoop/Big Data Administrator, Epic Clarity/Caboodle Administrator, Linux Administrator or Program Administrator within a technical team.
- Minimum of 5 years combined experience supporting technical applications such as (but not limited to): SAP Business Objects, Microsoft SQL Server, Epic Clarity/Caboodle, Oracle, and/or Hadoop/Big Data.
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and performance tune in a clustered environment
- Some SQL development experience
Preferred Experience
- 5 years combined experience using Epic's Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software or the Clarity data warehouse environment
- License and Certifications:
- Epic certifications in any subject area or required within (6) months from employment, Microsoft (MTA, MCSA, MCSE) certifications is a plus

Working Conditions
MGB has implemented special remote working policies due to COVID-19. These policies are subject to change; however, it is currently expected that this position will work remotely (e.g. from home) full time through June 2021

- Must be available for on-call rotation (evening, night, and weekend hours as needed)
