Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.
The Capital & Stress Testing team within the Operational Risk Foundational Components group, supports the end-to-end operational risk capital adequacy and stress testing process across the organization. The team is responsible for Advanced Measurement Approach capital planning and executing the annual Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR)/Dodd-Frank Act Stress Test (DFAST) by aggregating and assessing the reasonableness and completeness of the loss projections from the material risk estimation work streams (e.g. Modeling, Scenario Analysis, and Legal). The team also contributes to the operational risk submission of required regulatory schedules and narratives. The team's responsibilities include ongoing monitoring of applicable material operational risks for capital planning purposes as well as the oversight and execution of Scenario Analysis for operational risk.
The Operational Risk Capital & Stress Testing team (ORCAST) has an opportunity for a new position to support the growth and build-out of Scenario Analysis oversight component.
This position will be responsible for managing and leading projects and activities in support of Operational Risk Stress Testing at the firm. The role will have a heavy emphasis on development and implementation and execution of Business Level Scenario Analysis oversight. The role will oversee the integration oversight of business level scenario analysis with enterprise scenario analysis program, associated processes and controls as well as providing leadership and support in the ongoing efforts related to the execution of CCAR/DFAST and Material risk Confirmation Process.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist in developing and maintaining firm-wide standards for the Global Scenario Analysis Policy
Critically assess the risk management scenarios for reasonableness of the design and assumptions, accuracy of quantification
Ensure that Lines of Business and support functions including Independent Risk Management (IRM) have a clear understanding of the methodology utilized in the development of scenario analysis mandate across the firm.
Manage the migration of scenario analysis library to a dedicated online risk management repository
Provide support for the end-to-end CCAR loss aggregation process
Provide thought leadership and execution support in the implementation of various enhancements for operational risk stress testing
Execute ongoing monitoring of applicable material operational risks leveraged in annual capital stress testing
Effectively collaborate with members of the Operational Risk Foundational Components team as well as complementary risk review teams
This position will report to the Operational Risk Inputs and Analytics Team Lead, within a large cross-functional stress testing team. This position will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders, including senior management from all three lines of defense. The role may require participation in meetings with the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
7+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 7+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 5+ years must include direct experience in risk management
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Experience navigating through ambiguity
Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills
Experience working with internal and external auditors and examiners
Other Desired Qualifications
Experience participating in Scenario Analysis or Risk Management Workshops
Audit and/or Regulatory experience (working directly for/with the FRB or OCC)
Strong problem solving skills. Comfortable dealing with ambiguities
