The Human Factors Team Leader is a critical customer development, training and technical leadership role within the Sarcos organization; responsible for leading development of the human-machine interface for Sarcos’ products such as the Guardian® XO® exoskeleton. The position requires an extensive understanding of the ergonomics of the human body, especially in relation to its interaction with machinery. In this role you will also lead a team of operator trainers to design customer-facing training programs for the safe and efficient operation of Sarcos products. The Human Factors
Team Leader will serve to focus engineering development of human-machine interfaces, including soft goods and the intuitive operation of Sarcos products, assuring operators will realize the full benefit of operating the robots comfortably and safely.
Design experiments and develop metrics to understand impact of exoskeleton operation on the human;
Work with 3rd party test facilities on human factors testing of the exoskeleton;
Provide feedback to the engineering team on improvements towards safe and comfortable operation of the exoskeleton;
Oversee exoskeleton operator training program including customized training materials (written, video, hands-on, etc.);
Oversee safety protocols for operating Sarcos products;
Support customers on operation of Sarcos products;
Interact with and influence the Environmental, Health, Safety and engineering departments of Sarcos’ customers.
Experience in technology-based training, human performance assessment, adaptive training, or instructional design strongly preferred;
Experience leading experimental research projects related to human performance, human factors, or training preferred;
Experience in developing human-machine interfaces for technology or industrial products within the business to business market segment;
Understanding of electromechanical and robotics systems preferred;
Ability to multitask and prioritize;
Innately possess accountability, fearless risk- taking and measurable achievement;
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
Sincere enjoyment in talking with and educating customers;
Persuasive oral and written communication abilities;
Strong commitment to worker safety;
Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable;

Minimum of 5 years of directly related experience;
Bachelor’s or advanced degree (preferred) in human factors engineering, physical ergonomics, safety engineering, biomedical engineering,
sports physiology, physical education or similar degree with an emphasis in human interaction with technology, or equivalent experience required;
Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential in this position;
Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Ability to travel up to 25%;
Ability to obtain security clearance for military locations as necessary;
Work is performed Monday through Friday with ability to work overtime and weekends;
Safety awareness is absolutely essential at all times while in the work area;
Must be able to stand and sit for extended times.
