Corporate Risk helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.
The Credit and PPNR Modeling (CaPM) Team is a unit within the Corporate Credit Risk group and is responsible for model development and implementation of the following model types:
Credit loss estimation models for the entire loan portfolio to support Allowance for Credit Loss (ACL), including Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL); estimation of risk weighted assets (RWA) in compliance with Basel regulations; and, economically sensitive credit loss estimation in compliance with Dodd Frank and the Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review exercises (CCAR)
Models to support Pre-Provision Net Revenue (PPNR) estimates including forecasting models to support Dodd Frank and CCAR
The team is seeking a Quantitative Analytics Specialist 4 to focus on implementation, execution, and analytics of models for Commercial portfolios to support stress testing (CCAR/DFAST), allowance calculation (CECL and IFRS9), and business loss forecasting. This position joins a high functioning, high profile team and requires strong programming and analytics skills; ability to understand complex loss forecasting models; possess organizational and prioritization skills; as well as strong attention to detail. This role is highly dynamic and will require critical thinking and a tactical approach to problem solving.
The responsibilities of this role include the following:
Leading implementation of complex CCAR, CECL/IFRS9 modeling environments working with large data sets, advanced statistical models, and SAS/other coding to effectively and efficiently execute models for purposes including stress testing, allowance calculations, and loss forecasting
Developing analytics around model results for enhancing forecast performance
Understanding the trends within loan portfolios, their impact on model performance, and quantifying the risks not captured by models via management adjustments
Establishing and cultivating relationships with the lines of business, model users, data, and model development teams
Coherently supporting analyses to a variety of audiences, including end users, management, regulators, and review groups
Establishing strong controls and creating consistent and robust execution processes across models
Maintaining documentation for key implementation processes across the team with focus on standardization of implementation and execution controls
4+ years of experience in an advanced scientific or mathematical field
A master's degree or higher in a quantitative field such as mathematics, statistics, engineering, physics, economics, or computer science
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to identify and manage complex issues and negotiate solutions within a geographically dispersed organization
Ability to interact with integrity and a high level of professionalism with all levels of team members and management
Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment
Other Desired Qualifications
Expertise in SQL and SAS programming
A deep understanding of data and analytics across multiple product classes, systems, and organizations
Demonstrated excellence at identifying stakeholders, understanding needs, and driving to resolution
Ability to drive decision making through a consensus building approach
Detail oriented, results driven, and has the ability to navigate in a quickly changing and high demand environment while balancing multiple priorities
Experience with UNIX/LINUX environments
Experience with Python programming
