The Legal Technology BI / Reporting Lead will provide technology leadership and solution development for the Legal Technology Matter Management reporting platform. This role provides a critical lead function in serving the Wells Fargo Legal department to develop critical business analytics reporting. Matter Management is a key platform for the Legal department used by Attorneys, Paralegals, Compliance Managers, and Fees Consultants to manage various legal functions for Wells Fargo.
Acts as expert technical engineering resource to agile team in the report development, testing, and implementation process
Analyzes business requirements, designs and writes functional and technical specifications to develop creative reporting solutions
Performs data analysis on existing data model and external data feeds
Works as part of Agile Scrum team to support requirements definition and solution development
Works with business analysts, development teams and project managers for requirements and project tasks
Develops system documentation, departmental technical procedures and user guides
Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and supports creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan
Works with Infrastructure Engineers and System Administrators as appropriate in provisioning infrastructure to support key initiatives
Works with Vendor and Platform Engineering to troubleshoot problems and optimize reporting platform performance
Provides application support that will entail initial issue triage and troubleshooting, root cause determination, and the development of short and long term technical and/or process solutions Works with DBAs in Enterprise Database Management group to troubleshoot problems and optimize report and query performance
Leverage knowledge of industry trends to build best in class reporting to provide competitive advantage.
Leads the migration of reports to production
7+ years of application development and implementation experience
7+ years of experience in translating business and functional requirements into conceptual, logical and physical data models
5+ years of Cognos experience
5+ years of MS SQL server experience
2+ years of Agile experience
Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Other Desired Qualifications
7+ years of experience delivering reporting / BI solutions and data analysis utilizing complex data models
Cognos administration and framework management
Experience in SQL programming and tuning (including stored procedures, indexes, views, functions)
ETL, data warehouse and data analytics delivery experience
2+ years of Legal, Compliance or regulatory systems experience
A BS/BA degree or higher in information technology or related field
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, both in person and virtual
Ability to interact effectively and confidently with peer development staff, business partners, and vendors
Knowledge and understanding of JIRA and Confluence
Advanced problem solving and technical troubleshooting capabilities with ability to translate business needs into analysis and/or proposed solutions
Strong analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to distill complex data into analysis that drives decisions recommendations and decisions
Demonstrates ability to cope well with change in a dynamic environment and deal effectively with ambiguity
