The IT Security Analyst is a technical and analytical position with Pitt IT's Security Team requiring knowledge of and hands-on-experience with network and data security, vulnerability management, and how they function in an enterprise environment. An understanding of monitoring tools, network management, server and host-based security is required. The IT Security Analyst will also be responsible for understanding and assessing security, confidentiality/privacy, and operational risks related to internal systems and the solutions of third-party providers. Assessments and controls include those relevant to laws, regulations, and industry security standards.
Security awareness and training activities will also be a component of this position. The IT Security Analyst will be responsible for developing, implementing and supporting IT-based controls, evaluate new IT-based security controls, and work closely with other University departments. A candidate for this position should have 3 years of experience, BS/BA degree preferred, and CISSP or other similar IT security certifications preferred. This position requires the candidate to possess troubleshooting skills, communication and organizational skills, and a commitment to customer service. All Security team personnel are required to be available to respond to emergency security incidents on a 24/7/365 basis.
