The Division of Enrollment Management leverages data and insights to identify challenges IUPUI faces, as well as develop and implement a strategy that leads to the University's viability. We do this from the perspective of enhancing the experience of our students from the point of recruitment through graduation.
The Division of Enrollment Management (DEM) is comprised of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Office of Student Financial Services and Scholarships, Office of the Registrar, Office for Veterans and Military Personnel, Division of Enrollment Management (DEM) Finance and Administration, DEM Technology Services, DEM Marketing Research and Analytics, DEM Strategic Enrollment Initiatives Outreach and Partnerships (SEIOP), Indiana University Fort Wayne Student Central and Office of IUPUI and Ivy Tech Coordinated Student Programs (Passport). In addition to IUPUI, the Division of Enrollment Management oversees the recruitment, enrollment, and retention efforts of our sister campus IUPUC.
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions has made significant impact on recruiting and enrolling students over the last few years with record enrollments that include are largest and most diverse class of Beginners. The office is looking to increase upon that momentum.
The individual in this fulltime, entry level position is expected to work collaboratively across the office to assist in the coordination of recruitment initiatives and resources to develop seamless strategies to connect and build relationships with prospective students and their influencers. This individual, with guidance from the Recruitment Manager, will provide information and data that will assist in the development of a strategic recruitment and communication plan that establishes IUPUI as the ideal environment for students to pursue their post-secondary educational goals. This position will manage a territory that may include Indiana and/or non-resident markets, traditionally aged students, and transfer students.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
* Represent IUPUI to prospective students and influencers with the highest degree of professionalism through an array of outreach programs and recruitment activities, including workshops, presentations, fairs, and high school visits. * Maintain partnerships with schools, community colleges, and organizations to facilitate collaborative programming and assist in recruiting, guiding and supporting college bound students. * Effectively coordinate an extensive fall travel schedule, as well as expected travel for the spring and summer. * Responsible for ensuring the growth and quality of recruitment programs through regular meetings with supervisor to monitor strategic planning. * Support the implementation of programs for the recruitment of prospective students, in an assigned territory. * Manage a geographic territory for recruitment and implement enrollment plans as well as providing feedback on effectiveness of enrollment strategies. * Assist and manage additional projects related to achieving office wide enrollment goals. * Contribute to individual, team, and unit goals on a daily, weekly, monthly basis so that enrollment targets are met.
Bachelor's degree and one year of experience in admissions, student services, event planning, or transferable skills from advising, teaching, or sales with identifiable public speaking experience.
Possess a valid driver's license with the ability to be insured by Indiana University.
Excellent customer service skills including strong cross-cultural, interpersonal, writing, and public speaking skills. Ability to represent IUPUI in a positive way to diverse populations. Ability to work effectively, efficiently, and both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment that is subject to constantly changing priorities. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information.
Degree in a liberal arts discipline. Experience as a student employee working in an admission office at a university as a tour guide, campus ambassador, or a resident assistant. Experience with a large public higher education institution. Previous work with students, parents, alumni, and volunteers in a university setting. Strong sense of initiative, the ability to work well independently and in a team, and the capacity to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently.
Working Conditions / Demands
Ability to work long hours and frequent weekend and evening work required during peak periods. Travel is a necessary component of this position as well as loading and transporting admissions materials, displays, and other equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to stand for several hours behind a table at college fairs.
