The Student Service Coordinator II position provides day-to-day student support and recruitment services and oversight for the Global Learning-St. Louis extended site location (Des Peres, Missouri). The position reports to the Vice Provost for Global Learning and performs a variety of independent, specialized student support and recruitment duties for distance education and professional and continuing education, including website maintenance and management of event registration system(s). The incumbent will collaborate with internal and external constituents, including faculty and staff on campus, at extended site locations, and within the University of Missouri System.
Serve as the main point of contact for the Global Learning-St. Louis extended site. Work closely with the building management and corporate and educational residents.
Provide day-to-day oversight of the center operations; receptionist, customer service, event management and scheduling.
Monitor and respond to emails from students, prospective students, academic and administrative departments and other internal and external constituents related to student support.
In coordination with the Global Learning Team, perform follow-up contacts with new student inquires, application processing, first time enrollments and provide student support to current and former students.
Schedule and coordinate classes with adjunct faculty in the St. Louis area, and the department chairs in Rolla. Schedule the video classrooms at Global-St. Louis.
Provide customer service to all adjunct professors at Global-St. Louis: ordering evaluation or desk copies of books from various publishing companies, notifying them of important information at the start of each semester (dates & deadlines, etc.) and as needed during semesters.
Generate or change payroll information for adjunct professors at the start and end of each semester through ePAF.
Generate hiring paperwork of new adjunct professors in St. Louis (approved through the department at Rolla) through E-recruit.
Create and maintain databases related to community events, corporate partnerships and professional development.
Must be able to work in a team environment and collaborate closely with Global Learning team members to clarify needs/concerns/issues on projects.
Update web pages, websites and other web-based materials to be used in credit and non-credit program offerings.
Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Display problem solving, customer service and interpersonal skills.
Work on multiple projects while producing high quality work.
Update and maintain documentation on policies and procedures for student success, recruitment of distance students and professional and development opportunities.
Ensure compliance and adherence to university and system policies related to student communication and interactions.
Some travel required for local recruitment events in the Greater St. Louis and Illinois regions and to the main campus in Rolla, Missouri, for meetings, trainings and special events.
Other duties as assigned.
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
3 to 5 years of experience in educational student support environment is desired.
Background in marketing communications and/or recruitment is highly desired.
Experience working with customer relationship management systems, i.e. SLATE.
Strong organizational, analytical and data analysis skills.
Experience with social media platforms.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel & Word. Experience with Adobe products is a plus.
Must be detail oriented and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
