An IT Cyber Security Analyst participates in identifying, evaluating, implementing and monitoring appropriate security mitigation to provide assurance in the security of Cooperative cyber infrastructure and information. In this position, you will be given the opportunity to generate quality problem solving ideas, along-side your peers; while maintaining a high degree of situational awareness to real IT problems. All while, continuing to strive to push AECC and our mission forward.
Responsibilities
- Monitors security-events from servers, firewalls and intrusion detection sensors (IDS) for potential security breaches or violations of policy.
- Assists in the identification, handling and resolution of cyber security incidents; manages and maintains cyber security tools.
- Assists in the development, implementation and review of security plans, policies and procedures.
- Assists in presenting end-user IT security training and awareness programs on security policies and guidelines.
- Assists in risk assessments and implementing mitigation plans for Cooperative cyber systems.
- Monitors security bulletins for vulnerabilities applicable to Cooperative information systems, makes mitigation recommendations to systems owners and tracks progress in applying mitigation.
- Maintains compliant work processes according to applicable regulatory standards and Cooperative policies and programs.
- Assists in the development and evaluation of IT disaster recovery plans.
- The ability to handle stress and work well with others are essential functions of this position.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be able to obtain NERC CIP clearance access
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work outside normal business hours
- Ability to be in an on-call rotation to assist with troubleshooting security related issues.
Security Analyst II
- Minimum 2 years of related experience.
Security Analyst III
- Minimum 5 years of related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- CISSP or Equivalent
- SANS GIAC
