Alfred State College has an anticipated opening for a Machine Tool Lecturer at the Northland Workforce Training Center in Buffalo NY, starting January 2020
The individual should be fluent in machining applications and CNC programming, setup and/or operation of CNC mill, lathe or machines using MASTER CAM 9, and Auto Cad. Manual machining experience for Mill , Lathe and also surface grinding experience A strong knowledge of EIA codes, machine maintenance and repair. Also a strong background of manufacturing and blueprint reading required along with inspection of parts and problem-solving skills.
The successful candidate should be able to present well prepared, organized, and clear lectures and classroom activities consistent with the course syllabus and school policies. Continually promote students development and effective use of skills in areas such as critical and analytical thinking, evaluation, communication, professionalism, customer service, computation, problem solving, and decision-making. Provide the student with timely information and feedback on his/her academic progress relative to quizzes, tests, homework and projects. Maintain accurate records of student academic and attendance performance. Possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of all school policies, and actively participate in their implementation Follow all retention policies of the school to ensure students are in attendance.
Applicants must have 7 years of professional experience with a minimum of 5 years approved trade experience in Machine Tool and CNC operation OR an AOS Degree in Machine Tool and CNC operation and 5 years approved trade experience in the field.
