The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (MIE) at Northeastern University offers the Master of Science in Data Analytics Engineering to meet the current and projected demand for a workforce trained in analytics. This MS program offers students an opportunity to train for industry jobs or to acquire rigorous analytical skills and research experience to prepare for a doctoral program in health, security, and sustainability. The program is designed to enable the graduating students to address the growing need for professionals who are trained in advanced data analytics and can transform large streams of data into understandable and actionable information to support decision making.
Part time/Fulltime Teaching Positions:
One instructor with Industrial Engineering background to teach statistics and operations research courses.
One instructor with data science background to teach data mining, visualization, and data management courses.
One instructor to teach electives in machine learning area.
Responsibilities include teaching graduate classes in MS Data Analytics Engineering Program, developing instructional material for courses being taught, holding office hours, conduct exams, grad assignments/exams, and submitting final grades
M.S. or Ph.D. in relevant engineering discipline or computer science is required; some professional and/or teaching experience preferred. Must have strong, effective verbal skills to communicate well with students.
Courses Schedule: Fall 2019: IE 6200 Probability and Statistics, IE 6600 Computation and Visualization Spring 2020: IE 7280 Statistical Methods in Engineering, IE 7275 Data Mining in Engineering Fall 2020: OR 6205 Operations Research, IE 7272 Data Management for Analytics Spring 2021: IE 7300 Reinforcement Learning, IE 7615 Neural Networks and Deep Learning
