Position Summary: Information Technology Services at the University of California Office of the President seeks student interns for summer 2019.
This is a paid internship designed for currently enrolled University of California students interested in information technology management, including network and security technical support, data analysis and general communications within an IT organization.
The Network and Security Analyst Intern will assist in:
Developing and working with team members to provide basic technical support for a variety of network and security technologies and platforms.
Attending IT team meetings and take on tasks as assigned to keep the department moving toward its operational goals
Looking for opportunities to support and improve existing network and security services through increased security, efficiency, and availability
IT projects such as requirements gathering, data analysis and design
Upgrading, maintaining, and deploying production environment network and security infrastructure and services

Duty 1: Basic technical support assistance in various systems and applications Function:Analysis and Support: Percent: 40
Duty 2: Creating new tracking and reporting processes by working in various areas and helping to refresh existing documented materials using MS Word, PowerPoint, the TDS Blog, and SharePoint forms/lists Function:Communications: Percent: 30
Duty 30: Attending meetings, project participation, technical research, data analysis, and technical design Function:Project Work: Percent: 30
Job Requirements Currently enrolled UC student
Good communication skills
Interest in professional experience in the field of ITS Required
