The Database Manager maintains, supports, and configures Chapman’s AudienceView database system, trains and supports end users; oversees data extraction, manipulation, and analysis; and documents all processes. Working with the Director of Ticketing Services, the Database Manager develops a clear understanding of operations, reporting needs, capacity, and technological expertise so that s/he may translate that knowledge into business requirements for the database, streamlined workflow, and improved data security.
Database Management: • Responsible for day-to-day management of AudienceView ticketing software including creating venues, performances, price charts, promocodes, bundles, ticket templates, memberships, and benefits. • Trouble-shoot database functionality and technical issues for database users. • Create, suspend, and manage user accounts and permissions to ensure integrity within the system. • Work with web development experts and marketing team to create and maintain a streamlined online interface for purchasing tickets that works seamlessly with chapman.edu. • Work with IS&T to create processes to continually migrate data between the many University systems. • Manage batch data processing and automation processes within AudienceView. • Create and manage process to remove duplicates from the system with support from ticketing associates. • Maintain a working knowledge of opportunities within the system and how other organizations are using AudienceView. Training and Development: • Provide training to end users on a regular schedule as well as anytime new features are introduced. • Responsible for developing, documenting, and enforcing standards, policies and procedures in coordination with the Director of Ticketing. • Ensure digital ADA compliance and web accessibility for ticketing patrons. General Administration: • Create simple graphics for each ticketed event, new venues, and ticket templates. • Make customizations to invoices based on department needs. • Occasionally supervise ticketed events including some nights and weekends. • During ticketed events outside of regular work hours, be on-call to troubleshoot urgent system issues. Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with demonstrated database management experience including experience with complex data structures and relational databases.
Basic HTML and CSS knowledge. Technical skills to learn and use enterprise system and departmental tools.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with extreme attention to detail.
Ability to exercise initiative and work independently.
Ability to use tact and diplomacy and to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Strong interpersonal skills with the Ability to work effectively with a variety of constituencies including students, campus departments, faculty, administrators, community organizations and off-campus clients.

Strong communication skills, both written and oral communications.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and complete them in a timely manner.
Flexibility to work to work occasional nights and weekends.
AudienceView or other ticketing software experience.
