The Operational Evaluation Division (OED) has an immediate career opening for an Analyst with experience in information technology and cyber systems to support operational testing of a Major Acquisition Program in the Department of Homeland Security. The position involves designing, monitoring, and reporting on phased sequences of operational test events focused on effectiveness, suitability, and cybersecurity – culminating in independent assessments of demonstrated performance provided to the Director of Test and Evaluation, the Program Management Office, and acquisition executives. Review of and reporting on design, integration, developmental testing, and acquisition oversight activities also are required. Limited travel may be required.
Candidate must meet one of the following education/experience combinations:
A minimum of a Doctoral Degree in Chemistry (Physical, Theoretical, Nuclear), Computer Science, Information Technology, Bioengineering, Engineering (Computer, Mechanical, Nuclear, Electrical, or Aerospace), Physics, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or related interdisciplinary program that encompasses one or more of these fields coupled with relevant work experience (via industry, government, research fellowships, or internships); OR
A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Chemistry (Physical, Theoretical, Nuclear), Computer Science, Information Technology, Bioengineering, Engineering (Computer, Mechanical, Nuclear, Electrical, or Aerospace), Physics, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or related interdisciplinary program that encompasses one or more of these fields coupled with 10+ years’ experience in research, system design/engineering, or policy.
Ability to collect, organize, synthesize and analyze data.
Significant computing experience (e.g., server management, networking configuration, statistical software or programming languages used in research (e.g., Python, R, Stata, MATLAB, etc.)) is a plus.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently with minimal supervision.
