Responsible for developing, recommending, and implementing compensation strategies and programs. Responsible for overall project management of compensation projects and initiatives. Ensures that upon implementation, projects and initiatives meet legal requirements and are consistent with TVA’s compensation philosophy and strategy. Position requires incumbent to work closely with members of the TVA HR community, Labor Relations, attorneys, and senior leadership in various line organizations to ensure effective coordination of strategies and programs.
Supervisory Responsibility — None
Plan, develop, analyze, evaluate, and manage a wide variety of compensation programs and classification projects and initiatives which support TVA’s strategic business objectives.
May act as liaison with other stakeholders on compensation issues.
Responsible for market pricing new positions and updating pricing information for existing positions.
Ensure overall equity and consistency in executive, M&S, excluded, and bargaining unit compensation.
Maintain integrity of FLSA classification and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Create training materials for compensation programs, processes, initiatives, etc.
Develops project plans, communications plans and schedules; presents plans for review and approval and insures appropriate steps/actions are taken to execute plans.
Ensure salary structures and salary administration systems are properly maintained consistent with TVA’s compensation philosophy by recommending needed plan adjustments, structure changes, or adjustments to market reference points.
Oversee implementation of compensation programs, includes advising HR Business Partnerships and business unit managers on compensation, classification and market pricing.
Maintain a knowledge and awareness of business unit goals and work functions and how they can be facilitated by TVA’s compensation programs.
Conduct special studies, analyze data, and prepare recommendations for improving effectiveness of existing compensation programs
Education –B.S. degree in business, HR, or equivalent. Graduate degree is desired.
Experience – 10 years of related experience with a focus on consulting, benchmarking, and project management. A solid understanding of trend analysis, total rewards, the design and application of HR programs, financial accruals, and information systems/databases is preferred.
Certification/License, etc — PHR/SPHR/CCP certification is desired.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities —Excellent analytical, problem solving, and consultative skills. The incumbent must have extensive knowledge and experience to be viewed as the compensation expert on cross-functional project teams. Detailed knowledge of compensation principals and best practices. Demonstrated ability to analyze, develop and implement solutions to complex classification or compensation problems. Candidate should have strong communication skills, and the ability to interact with peers and senior leadership. Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions.
