Working with M&G Prudential as a Senior Financials Credit Analyst means becoming part of a brand with a global reputation and an exciting vision: to become the best loved and most successful savings & investments business.
If you're inspired to join us, and have the necessary qualities, then this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Bank Credit Analyst to join M&G's Financials Credit Research team. You will be responsible for primary coverage of debt securities across the capital structure for a portfolio of banks in multiple regions. This involves assessing the fundamentals of each bank, the banking and regulatory systems in which they operate, and the relative value of their debt securities. Analysts are also required to communicate their views to portfolio managers and other team members in a clear and timely manner.
* Assessing the creditworthiness of banks and their debt instruments. This will entail credit analysis, financial modelling, documentation reviews, meeting issuers and assigning in-house credit ratings and valuations. * Working with colleagues to form relative views on credits across the universe of financials which the team covers. * Monitoring the existing portfolio of holdings, with the aim of identifying deteriorating credits and recommending appropriate trading strategies. * Tracking pricing levels and identifying attractive investment opportunities within the countries and issuers covered.
You will have:
* Strong fundamental credit analysis skills, with relevant bank credit analysis experience * The ability to assess the relevant investment risks of specific instruments from their documentation and other publicly available information * Deep knowledge of European and UK regulatory frameworks, accounting practices, and banks' current regulatory concerns and constraints * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal: fluency in English is a requirement, and a good working knowledge of another language would be helpful * Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team of analysts, but also to work independently and without direct supervision * Ability to prioritise and work under pressure * Understanding of pricing and relative value analysis, and the ability to make and explain credit investment recommendations to fund managers
