The Center for Civil-Military Relations (CCMR) in the School of International Graduate Studies at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) invites applications for the position of Faculty Associate - Education as a Program Associate for in-residence educational programs for DoD, USG and international students. We are seeking candidates with expertise in the fields of civil-military relations and related CCMR specialties, including defense institution building, peacekeeping operations, combating terrorism, maritime security, acquisition and resource management, and prevention, relief and recovery. Candidates must have experience in curricular design, education delivery, and student advisement, preferably in a DoD or USG capacity experience working with country teams and partner-nations in an educational and consultative-type environment. Further, we seek candidates with skills in the areas of: project curriculum development, organizing faculty teams, research and analysis, program management, project and activity coordination and synchronization, and monitoring and evaluation.
In this role, the incumbent supports senior faculty members who supervise and guide the overall faculty effort. Support is focused in the following areas:
Improve coordination regarding in-residence programs, content and programming
Incorporate research into curricular design including the development of portions of curricula
Provide academic advice and consultation to faculty, leadership and sponsors
Capture data for analytics for program assessments and evaluations
Delivers lectures or conducts workshops / seminars on selected topics as required
Gathers, maintains, and presents program and course data
Organizes and manages reviews, reports, and evaluations for in-residence educational programs
Develops and maintains course materials both online and in print
Produce reports, journal entries and other correspondence
Coordinate and facilitate supporting contract personnel
Based at the US Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) in Monterey CA, the Center for Civil-Military Relations (CCMR) was established in 1994 to assist newly emerging democracies in addressing the civil-military challenges of the post-Cold War world. Since its founding, CCMR has evolved to partner with a much broad range of regions and countries. Within the contemporary security environment, CCMR enables current US policies and strategies by offering a full spectrum of programs. The Center prepares practitioners from all over the world for new levels of leadership in their national security communities.
CCMR builds partner capacity and improves interagency and international coordination and cooperation by addressing civil-military challenges. These challenges include: enhancing civil-military relations,
supporting defense and security institutional capacity building and development, improving peacekeeping and peace-building operations, and combating terrorism.

Requires a graduate degree in a relevant functional area: international relations, political science, foreign affairs, or related field that supports the CCMR’s curricular and learning support needs
Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design and delivery and/or learning support systems
Must currently hold or be eligible for a Secret clearance
