IT Security Analyst III is an operational position that addresses threats and vulnerabilities to information assets. Responsibilities include monitoring, detecting, protecting, and maintaining the security of data, systems, and networks. Analyst will administer complex security policies and configurations to hardware, software, and networks. In doing so, analyst will help maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of institutional data needed to perform research, teaching and clinical activities.
As a member of the information security team this person will also be involved with security event investigations. The individual also works closely with the Network Engineering, Desktop Engineering, Server Support, Desktop Support and Help-desk teams to troubleshoot and resolve problems due to a security control. Security engineers also communicate daily to all levels of the workforce during security event investigations and as cyber-security experts to provide guidance on how to meet the University's security objectives.
Primary responsibility involves monitoring, detecting, protecting and maintaining the security of data, systems and networks. Plans, configures, designs, develops, implements and maintains tools, systems and procedures to insure the integrity, reliability and security of data, systems and networks. Applies skills as a seasoned, experienced IT security professional with a full understanding of industry practices, governmental regulations and campus, medical center or Office of the President policies and procedures to resolve a wide range of complex issues. Demonstrates competency in recommending methods and techniques to obtain results.
Three (3+) or more years of relevant experience.
A Bachelor's Degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area; and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.
Demonstrated experience using IT security systems and tools.
Demonstrated knowledge of data encryption techniques.
Demonstrated experience analyzing logs for security breaches.
Demonstrated healthcare experience.
Information Security certification such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, CCSFP, etc.
Must pass a background check.
Must pass physical, drug screen and TB test.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
