Iowa State University’s Office of Risk Management is seeking applications for an International Risk Analyst (Program Coordinator III). This position will serve as a university-wide resource, providing assistance to colleges and units in identifying and managing the risks associated with ever-growing study abroad programs, global travel, and international activities.
The International Risk Analyst will collaborate with key stakeholders to provide assistance and resources for ISU colleges, departments and units regarding development, management and promotion of comprehensive risk management strategies for travel abroad. The International Risk Analyst will provide: proactive assessment of risks associated with travel to and activities in international locations; health and safety site review; emergency and crisis preparedness and management; training and internal communication regarding international best practices; and educational initiatives regarding international risk management. This position will serve on internal committees and working groups regarding ISU’s international programs and business.
The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to collaborate and foster strong professional relationships with stakeholders at all levels; apply sound judgment and decision-making abilities; remain calm in emergency situations; handle matters confidentially; and exercise discretion with sensitive topics. Strong problem solving skills, excellent organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work independently, as well as within a team, will be essential for success in this position.
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience; OR a Master’s degree and 3 years of related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience totaling 9 years unless otherwise specified under supplemental required education and experience. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position.
