Rutgers University-Newark, an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking a Senior Program Administrator. Reports to Director of the Master of Financial Analysis (MFinA) Program at Rutgers Business School (RBS) Newark. The Senior Program Administrator: -Works closely with the staff of the Office of Career Management at Rutgers Business School, RBS and the Rutgers University-Newark Office of International Student and Scholar Services. -Represents the program and RBS at external events. -Performs a wide range of career counseling, including individual and group career counseling to students in the Master of Financial Analysis Program. -Administers and interprets career assessment instruments, and designs and implements workshops that help MFinA students with their career management process. -Maintains relationships with the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute and local chapters such as the New York Society of Security Analysts. -Develops outreach efforts to potential employers both domestic and international. -Establishes relationships with stakeholders to serve as mentors and/or as potential employers. -Connects between current students and alumni. -Organizes events, seminars, and career fairs for MFinA program students and stakeholders. -Tracks and reports student success stories and career placement after graduation. -Assists with student recruitment by organizing, advertising, and attending informational sessions for potential international applicants – in conjunction with traveling internationally for talent placement.- -Responsible for providing assistance for both Newark and New Brunswick campuses; occasional travel to New Brunswick campus is required.
Requires a bachelor's degree in business, counseling, human resources, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience, and a minimum of two years' experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of career counseling theories and methodologies for individuals and groups. Must have the appropriate qualifying education and/or experience to administer and interpret career assessment instruments.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Requires outstanding communication skills and computer literacy. Required open office hours one evening per week.
Expected to attend networking and career related daytime and evening events in the tri-state area such as New York meetings of the Rutgers Financial Alumni Network. Also expected to travel to the Newark campus when necessary for meetings with stakeholders. Occasional weekends, evenings, and early mornings. Travel to regional campuses is expected. Occasional travel to China or Southeast Asia for recruitment and placement purposes.
Master's Degree in business, counseling or human resources preferred. Background in finance and experience in financial industry are preferred. Proficient in Symplicity Program is a plus. Ability to read simplified Chinese and speak Mandarin is a plus. Experience with job placement for international students is a plus. Outstanding communication and organization skills are preferred.
Experience in financial industry is preferred.
Utilizes Excel reporting features, Publisher for advertising and branding, Access to link reporting metrics/ identify trends. Utilizes e-Recruiting database to track job postings and candidate applications. Proficient in Symplicity Program is a plus.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Able to lift and move delivery boxes. Lift items as storage room accommodates and events require.
