The Epic User Security Application Analyst will be responsible to implement, build, maintain, and optimize Epic EMR system. Analysts actively contribute to an innovative team dedicated to establishing a new foundation for advancing clinical delivery and quality outcomes. They have in-depth knowledge of the Epic EMR software, as well as medical center operations and workflow, and work closely with the project team's clinical leaders to translate business needs into EMR functionality.
User Security Analysts are experts in their fields. They fulfill multiple roles throughout the development, implementation, management, and on-going support of UCSD Medical Center's comprehensive electronic medical record system. Work to maintain and optimize Epic user security in support of all Epic Applications. Create standardized build principles and guidelines that allow for streamlined changes along with long term sustainability and maintenance.
The User Security Analyst will collaborate with counterparts from each application on the design and analysis for new requests and projects. Build responsibilities include: Templates, SubTemplates, Roles, Menu's, Activities, Security Classes, Workflow Engine Rules and related master files. Partner with key stakeholders on maintenance of Provider Records (SER), while providing direction and oversight for changes that integrate with the user security infrastructure. Responsible for reviewing vendor software releases and updates to test features desired and then implement them within UCSD Medical Center's system(s).
A Bachelor's Degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area; and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.
Five (5+) or more years of relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience using IT security systems and tools.
Knowledge of data encryption techniques.
Demonstrated experience analyzing logs for security breaches.
Demonstrated Healthcare experience.
Epic Security Certification.
Five (5+) Years of Epic build experience.
Security build experience in an Epic application.
Proficient in Chronicles Searches, Imports and Exports.
Demonstrated experience with Epic Community Connect.
Experience as a major participant in a clinical system implementation.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
