Summary: Perform duties of a portfolio manager, securities analyst, trader, and liaison with outside managers. Assist in the development of investment practices and products for trust clients and prospects. Responsible for the implementation of investment practices in accordance with Trust Investment Committee policies. Participate as a voting member of the Trust Investment Committee. Assist in the marketing efforts of the trust company and bank. Communicate proposals and investment activities with clients, prospects, administrators and Trust Investment Committee.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
Portfolio Management •Perform duties portfolio manager – see job description for Portfolio Manager – Investment Officer. •Manage investment relationships with selected clients. •Ensure regulatory compliance for all investment activities and records.
Trading •Act as trader for financial assets: stocks, bonds, ETFs, money market and mutual funds. •Evaluate and recommend Brokers for security transactions. •Determine solutions to trading errors. •Become proficient in investment related and administrative software.
Business Development •Act as an investment expert to assist business development officers soliciting new account relationships. •Conduct client and prospect meetings and maintain relationships with selected clients. •Participate in the creation and revisions of marketing materials for trust.
Securities Analysis and Manager Selection •Evaluate and recommend outside money managers. •Evaluate and recommend investment service providers. •Perform annual reviews of closely held securities and limited partnerships in designated accounts.
•Ability to present information effectively to management, public groups, clients and prospects. •Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to a prescribed style and format •Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community •Ability to apply and explain quantitative analysis related to portfolio theory, financial statements, and economic data •Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial journals, analyst reports, and trust documents •Ability to apply principles of logical and scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems •Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism and a variety of abstract and concrete variables •Computer skills to include AFG Research, Bloomberg Financial Terminal, Excel, and Word.
