The Security Analyst' is responsible for the following:
Planning, design, enforcement and audit of security policies and procedures which safeguard the integrity and access to enterprise systems and information assets.
Maintaining knowledge of changing technologies, and provides recommendations for adaptation of new technologies or policies.
Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing security policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed.
Provides management with risk assessments and security briefings to advise them of critical issues that may affect customer or corporate security objectives.
Responsible for acting on security violations, follows incident response process to mitigate risk stemming from security incidents.
Responsible for the maintenance of security infrastructure, performing upgrades, change requests.
Evaluates and recommends security products, services and/or procedures.
Oversees security awareness programs and provides education on security policies and practices.
Junior to mid-level position primarily focuses on security administration; a more senior level is involved in developing enterprise security strategies, management and security projects and the most complicated security issues.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent work experience.
4-6 years of IT work experience with a broad range of exposure to systems analysis, application development, data base design and administration; 1-2 years' experience with information security with a knowledge of security issues, techniques and implications across all existing computer platforms.
Required Skills and Experience:
Experience with Server Load Balancing, Preferably Radware
Experience with content filtering, Preferably Bluecoat.
Experience with one or more network based intrusion detection systems (ISS, Cisco, etc.)
Experience with Symantec endpoint security and SIEM
System Administration experience with one or more of the following operating systems:
Microsoft Windows (current versions, desktop and server)
HP-UX or Linux (RedHat)
Understanding of CITRIX and VMware
Knowledge of security products such as firewalls, IDS, antivirus, vulnerability assessment, etc.
Proficient in Splunk scripting
Hands on experience with one or more security information management products; IBM QRADAR preferred
Experience with performing data (log) analysis to identify malicious behavior.
Familiar with principles of Information and System Security
Basic understanding of IP routing and common Internet protocols (HTTP, SMTP, FTP, etc.)
Two or more years' experience working in a security analyst role.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Regulatory compliance and security framework: HIPAA, ISO 27000
Experience with one or more host based intrusion detection systems (Entercept, CSA, ISS, Snort, etc.)
Detailed product knowledge of and hands on experience with Tenable or Nessus security scanner.
Experience with firewall products
Detailed understanding of IP routing (OSPF,BGP, etc.) and common Internet protocols (HTTP,SMTP,FTP, etc.)
Degree from a four year college
Certifications: SSCP, CCNA, MCP, MCSE
