Our Modeling, Simulation and Analysis Center (MSA) is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer in operations research who is ready to be a part of Raytheon’s ongoing mission to support our war fighters and allies. Within the Systems Design & Performance (SD&P) directorate, MSA has the responsibility to provide, develop, and maintain performance and Operations Research simulations, conduct Operations Analysis Studies and provide operational insight for all Raytheon Missiles Systems (RMS) products and support new business initiatives. The selected candidate will deliver analytical support for programs through participation in project design reviews and peer reviews, including technical briefings to internal leadership and external customers. Key to the success in conducting these duties will be the ability to actively participate in definition of team objectives, translate those objectives into germane, technical tasks, and provide solutions. The candidate will, ideally, be a strong advocate for technical integrity across multiple programs or product lines. Additionally, the candidate will be an effective mentor of junior teammates, as well as a champion of respect, diversity and ethics. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
Required Skills, Education and Experience: •B.S. Degree: Aeronautical, Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, Operations Research, Physics, Mathematics or related scientific or engineering fields •Eight (8+) years of engineering experience in systems engineering, design trade analysis, performance analysis, threat analysis, or testing •Demonstrated expertise in the design and development of operational analysis methodologies •Minimum of six (6+) years of demonstrated (hands-on) experience performing analyses using the Brawler air-to-air engagement model •Familiarity with air combat tactics, maneuvers, and terminology; ability to implement preferred tactics/maneuvers within Brawler •Execution of concept and performance trade studies; demonstration of capabilities developed. •Working knowledge of Matlab or other scientific computing platform/language. •Working knowledge of the Linux operating system •Demonstrated experience with scripting languages, e.g. AWK, Perl, Python, etc. •Must currently have an active, SECRET DoD security clearance or higher •Must be capable of obtaining a TOP SECRET DoD security clearance Desired Skills, Education and Experience: •An analyst who “gets” tactical air warfare; understands the mental state of pilots; understands the “system of systems” vision of tactical air warfare as a combination of platforms (both manned & unmanned), sensors, armaments, situational awareness, communications networks, and battle management •Knowledge and appreciation for electronic attack and defensive measures for tactical aircraft •Strong radar background •Other Air Warfare Analysis Tools (in addition to Brawler) •Known and recognized authority on threat capabilities •Excellent verbal and written communications with internal and/or external customers and team members. •Demonstrated ability to continuously adapt to changing business needs. •Masters or Ph.D. in degrees mentioned above
